Hey angelsss,
this post is for everyone.
For girls, boys, students and adults in their mid thirties, wondering if they took the right turn.
Especially for those who who feel stuck.
The ones who aren’t sure what they wanna be when they grow up
even if they’re technically already grown.
A lot of people define work as something that has to be done.
A 9-5 job, desperately waiting for lunch breaks and weekends.
And if you find yourself in that, you havent found you Ikigai yet.
what is ikigai
Maybe you heard about this word before: Ikigai (生き甲斐)
Ikigai is a beautiful japanese concept which translates to a reason for being.
Basically your own meaning of life.
Its the sweet spot between:
- what you love
- what youre good at
- what the world needs
- and what you can be paid for
Some people find their Ikigai at a young age.
Some are still searching for it when their hair starts turning grey.
Its not easy for everyone discover, yet the best thing you can do for your future self.

The question you might ask yourself now:
how do I find my Ikigai?
You can try to do so by answering the following four questions.
So grab a pen, open your notes app on your phone or just imagine it.
- What do I love doing?
The things that make you forget the time. Your hobbys, your dreams youre lowkey scared to say out loud. (Watching TikTok and sleeping doesnt count lol)
Maybe its dancing, styling outfits, filming videos…
- What am I good at?
Doesnt has to be connected to school. Maybe you´re a good listener, a natural leader or youre that friend that always hypes everyone up?
Think about what people compliment about you? What do you often hear about yourself?
- What does the world need?
Okay this one doesnt mean you have to save the planet in one go or adopt two-hundred children. It could be something way more quiet like more kindness, more entertainment, more creative voices, maybe yours…?
- What can I be paid for?
The final question. How can you turn a thing from above into a job, a side-hustle or a career?
This one might be the hardest and its okay to dream big.
Could your sense of fashion lead to styling? Could your kindess become therapy or coaching?
Now imagine all four answers as circles, overlaping each other. And in the center, where they all meet, is your Ikigai.
And even if the picture isnt fulfilled by now, every honest answer from you (and you only) helps to get you closer.
final thoughts
There is acctually a super nice book called Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life by Héctor García and Francesc Miralles. which dives deeper into the whole concept. I haven’t read it yet, but it’s definitely on my list.
And if you’re curious what my Ikigai might be…
I think it’s somewhere between writing, creating things that make people feel seen, and dancing. Maybe it will change with time, maybe it will stay.
XOXO,
Leona 💋
