Why does everything have a name nowadays?

Every shirt you wear, every pair of shoes, every hairstyle.
It all gets stuffed into an aesthetic.
It needs to be categorized before it’s even allowed to exist?!
Why must a photo of your breakfast be that girl coded and why does your breakup suddenly fall under the three month rule?

It’s not a crime to not stick to only one aesthetic. Not everything has to match and honestly, I think that’s a vibe.
Not saying it’s wrong if you love matching everything. But you don’t have to force yourself to.

I think social media has kind of ruined creativity. Even opinions.
You watch a Reel, you have a thought, but before you even finish forming it you’re already in the comments. Looking for validation.
The top comment might say the complete opposite of what you first thought.
And before you know it, you’re reposting a take you didn’t agree with a minute ago.

If everyone just did what they actually liked, no one would be scared of not fitting in because everyone would stand out.

So wear that coat, even if it doesn’t fit your style.
Listen to girly pop after hard rap.
Paint your nails pink today, and black tomorrow. Be unpredictable.
Everyone is so busy with themselves, no one truly cares about you mixing gold and silver jewelry in one outfit.

You don’t have to stick to just one aesthetic.
You don’t have to fit into anything.
Because if you try to be someone else, you’ll always be the lesser version of them.
But when you choose to be yourself, unapologetically and fully, you become the realest, rarest, most irreplaceable person and I think that’s beautiful.
